kitten blindness

If newborn kittens are kept in the dark too long, can they become blind?

How long are we talking about? Kittens don't open their eyes until they are about 8 days old. And they don't fully open them until about 14 days. Cats eyes can trap a lot of light, so what may be dark to you is light to them. I wouldn't worry about them being blind. They will be able to see.
