Question
Is it normal for a cat to go inbetween intervels of no labor after say first kitten is born for more than 6 hours knowing there is 2 more in her? SHOULD i be calling a vet? THANKS Diana

Answer
Diana,

Cats have been known to wait up until 24 hours between one set of kittens and the next.  She has delivered the kittens from one horn of the uterus and is waiting to deliver the kittens from the other horn of the uterus.  We do not let them go that long.

I would go see your vet to make sure there are no complications.  If need be, the vet can induce labor.  You know she can deliver kittens so there should be no danger in rupturing the uterus by inducing labor.

Please let me know what happens.

Best regards... Norm.
