Rapid breathing and lethargy

Question
Dear Becky:
I have a one year old Scottish Fold. She has been very lethargic for a couple days and now I notice her breathing very rapidly. Abdomen is moving fairly rapidly as is her nose with each rapid breath. No other apparent problems. Is a long hair and did have a furball recently. Could it be an intestinal blockage? What should I do?

Answer
Hi Mike,
This sounds much worse than just a hairball. Something is terribly wrong and I do not want to try to guess what it could be.  You need to take her to a Vet as soon as possible.  I don't mean to scare you, but she really needs professional care.  You need to at the very least, call a Vet.

God Bless,
Becky
