bald patches on cats

I have a 13 year female black dsh cat, who has licked bald patches of her lower stomach and back legs.  She is healthy, in good condition, no fleas, and has just been wormed.  Can you recommend a medicine or a solution to this problem?

Hi Kathy it is not unusual at this age for cats to get thyroid problems which can lead to hair loss. It would be best to get some blood work done on her and get her on some appropriate medication to balance this off for her. The hair loss is only one of the symptoms, and a thyroid that is not functioning properly will be affecting other things in her body,  so it should be taken care of. Teresa
