Question
Hello!
I found 2 kitens in my shed while doing my spring cleaning, thinking the mother was around I let them be and skipped out on cleaning the shed, a few days later I went to check on them and they were crying and wouldnt stop, a few hours later still no mother to be seen, so I took the kitens in and went to the pet store to buy all the things I needed to nurse them..they were then about 3 weeks old. They were doing very well i weaned them off the bottle and started them on soft foods, they played , followed me around and acted so silly all day.
Recently "Sara Bella" the smallest of the 2 has been unactive, you can tell she trys to play but its just not there anymore, she still eats ok and drinks pretty good but there are lumps on her sides and between her collar bone which are painful to the touch. I am a single mother with 2 jobs and school so right now I can not afford to see the vet for another week, its sad that they cant do anything for me now, but I dont know how to make her comfortable, what it is, will it go away or the worse, will my baby kitty die....please help

Answer
Hi Amie.  Have you checked with local vets to see if they'll hold a check?  Many of the vets around me will.  I think that you may be in a very bad situation if your kitten doesn't see the vet right away.  Any change in behavior is a definite sign something's wrong, and in my guestimation (of course I'm not a vet), these little sore lumps may well be swollen glands.  Of course, that indicates infection, usually, and an antibiotic will likely be needed to get her feeling better.
