QuestionMy cat just had her kittens, and the male father cat keeps going into her nesting area. It is too far away for us to reach him, and she doesn't do anything when he does go near them. Should I keep him out of there, and are the kittens in any danger with him being under there?
AnswerHi Jessica,
For safety's sake you probably want to keep the father away from the young kittens. If you can, put the mom and kittens in a room by themselves that will be quiet and away from people and other animals. When the kittens are older, say around 4 or 5 weeks you can introduce them to their father, but make sure that is supervised.
