our 7 mth old kitty

Our kitty was born in June of last year and she seems to now be going through the change of life ( our little girl is becoming a woman) She has always been very quite but now she has started to meow a lot more like you definitely know she is in the room today i noticed that she is not sitting and she tries to lay down but she acting like her but or her private area is sore she is sticking her tail up so that it doesn't touch her area I looked and it doesn't look swollen and is not red after she figures out how to lay down the right way she is fine I've been watching her she is licking a little more then normal but not like that's all she wants to do. is this just her way of keeping the area extra extra clean because she knows that she is going to have her first cycle soon. Is there anything i can do to make her more comfortable I can't even call the vet until monday but i figured if there was something simply i could do for her until then.  Thankyou for having this service available.

It sounds to me as though your kitty is in season. I would suggest that you have her spayed as soon as possible and don't allow her contact with male cats until she is altered. She is not in pain or uncomfortable, this is normal behavior for a cat in heat. Given that many kittens are euthanised each year in animal shelters simply because there are not enough homes available for them. I strongly suggest that you don't contribute to the problem by allowing your kitty to breed. I hope that the information provided helps to alleviate your concerns and offers some education.
