Possible Illness

Lisa- I have two female cats we got from a shelter about two years ago.  They are from the same litter and both spayed.  One seems to not be feeling well since Sunday morning as she has stayed under our bed sleeping while she usually is very active in playing with her sister (in and out of the house).  She seems very groggy and we're concerned that something is not right and preparing for a possible vet visit.  I've gone over her externals and she does not appear sore or injured anywhere.  Any information that you could provide on a) what might be wrong; b) if we should keep the other cat away so she doesn't become sick too and c) what we should be prepared for at the vet would be helpful.  Thank you.

could be many things....maybe she got into something poinsonous or ate a poisonous plant or maybe she has an upper respirtory infection. in any case..yes keep the other cat away from her in case she is contagious and yes take her to the vet. might be just a cold, in which case she will need meds. a visit to the vet is best.
