death of cat and the other cat is crying

One of our cats died and the other is out of sorts and crying a lot.  He is nine years old and disabled somewhat since birth.  What can I do to help him get over her death.

Hi Laura,

I'm so sorry about the loss of your cat.  The other cat certainly could be grieving for her just as you are and what you need to do is give the nine year old extra love and attention.  Hold him and pet him and talk soothingly to him and eventually he will get over this, just as you will.  Was he especially close to her?  Are there other cats that he could become close with?  I wish you the best; its true what they say, time does heal all wounds, with us and members of our cat family.
