grooming until hair loss

My cat all of a sudden started grooming herself until the hair is gone.  I have brought her to the vet.  I think it's nerves.  She really wants to go outside.  She's an indoor cat.  So, I let her out for a bit.  She comes back soon.  I don't want to spend lots of $ on this, because I know it's behavior not physical.  Any suggestions?

It sounds like it might be a flea allergy. And even if you can't see them she may have them. Cats are really good at getting rid of fleas. But it only takes one bite to set her off. Try using something like Advantage for cats and see how she is. If it is fleas you should see results in about two weeks. If you don't write back and I'll help you further. Good luck.
