QuestionI fostered five kittens and got a call that one wants to return kitten due to chewing problem. Kitten suddenly started chewing not only wood, but metal (brass bed, aluminum ladder). Changed food, has lots of toys. Has another kitten. Will be playing with kittens and she will walk away and start chewing on furniture.
AnswerAnn,
I would have them take the kitten to a vet for a dental check up. Normally if kittens are separated too young, they may begin chewing fabric (especially wool), but wood and metal sounds as if there may be a dental problem. In my experience, this is uncommon!
