My cat and kittens

Question
I have a 4 year old neutered male and just brought home to 6 week old female kittens. When we my male adjust to having the babies in the house? He has been around several cats in the past. Males and Females

Answer
Becky,

At 6 weeks this kitten is barely weaned and awfully young to be in a new home.  Do you know what shots the kitten has had?  Exposure to your neutered male can put this kitten at risk without the proper vaccinations.  Kittens' immune systems are usually not very good until at least 13 weeks of age.

Anyway, most adult cats are very tolerant towards young kittens, so the male should take to the kitten fairly quickly.  Expect a little bit of hissing and spitting, but this should subside rather quickly.

Were it me, I would isolate the kitten for a few weeks, make sure it got all of its shots.  Give the kitten its own litter pan and feed where it does not have to compete with the older cat.  When the kitten is a bit more self assured, has a stronger immune system, then meeting your 4 year old would be a reasonable option.

Best regards... Norm.
