Question
I have a 4 year old fixed male cat that has been diagnosed with a yeast infection. He was perscribed a medication Kefocoregole 200( very hard to read the dr. hand writing. This medication made him sick meaning unlively but not throwing up. He has no fur on his face, ears, neck, belly, half his back, tail, and privates. Today we started dipping him in a vinigar water solution...do you have any thoughts on this matter of what we could do. We live in the country and the majority of our vets specialize in bigger/farm animals. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Dear Mitzi,

I'm sorry I can't figure out what drug that could be, I think the handwriting must be really bad. It would be unusual for a cat to have such a severe yeast infection on skin to have bald patches. Did the vet do a skin scraping? It seems more likely to be mites, mange or ringworm. Unfortunately I don't think I can help you over the internet on this one, I would recommend finding a good small animal vet even if you have to drive a ways. Getting a skin scraping is the only way to know for sure what is causing the problem and how to treat it.
