CAT POOPING PROBLEMS

MY CAT HAS ALWAYS USED HIS CAT LITER, BUT IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS MY CAT HAS BEEN USING MY SOFA TO POOP ON IT, WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS SUDDEN PROBLEM

Hi Eileen.  There could be a few things that could cause this.  

#1 - have you moved the litter box recently?
#2 - have you changed litter recently?
#3 - have you adopted a new pet recently?
#4 - have you changed food recently?
#5 - how old is your cat?  If your friendly feline is a senior cat, this could be a way of him letting you know that there is another medical issue that you need to take care of.  

My Chewey, God rest his furry soul, let me know he was sick by urinating on the mat in the bathroom - while I was in the tub and the litter box was spotless.  There was blood in the urine, so I knew to get him to the vet asap.

If any of the above are factors, try reverting back to the old way.  If not, I'd give your vet a quick call and see if he or she can suggest anything.
