Question
hi there..?
can the cat's shedded hair accumulate in the lungs if inhaled and how it can be hazardous(shedded hair)?
thanks

Answer
Hi Yaz sam, Are you worried about the cat inhaling it or yourself?? Normally hair will not accumulate in the lungs because of protections we have to prevent that( ie the hair in our noses acts as a filter) Only very small particles of smoke and dust can usually get anywhere near our lungs but if you worked in a grooming parlor and were constantly exposed to minute pieces of hair it would be possible for the tiniest piece to enter your lungs but even then your body would try to protect your lungs by forming mucous and causing you to cough etc. So, it is not a real concern for yourself or your cat. Why were you worried? What is happening with you or your cat?
