siamese cat : sudden change of behaviour

Question
Hi!

I have two siamese cats : Ginger the eldest is 7 and Milly the youngest 6 months.

Ginger used to be very lively :talkative, playful, fond of strokes and always asking for more. But since we've adopted a kitten she feels depressed : she spends a long time sleeping, she does not play as much as before, and seems completely indifferent to us, she is no more in search of strokes. She always seems bored and sad.

The relationship between the two cats was at first difficult. But after two weeks they started playing and sleeping together. Now they are getting on very well.

I thought at first that her sudden change of behaviour towards us was temporary, but now a few months have gone by and she is still the same. What can I do ?

Answer
So she has accepted the kitten but not you?
Are you perhaps giving more attention to the kitten than you realize?  Ginger should be the one who receives the most attention. In other words, she should receive preferential treatment. Act AS IF you favor her over the kitten.
In a multi-cat household..cats develop a heirarchy.. Ginger is higher on the ladder than the kitten. This may seem unfair to US - but this is the way cats LIVE.
