Question

Tony & Talli
Has lymphoma ever been misdiagnosed for something else?  There are no tumors present but the lymph nodes in my cats neck and under his legs are swollen and hardening.  The vet today took at xray and said it was too blurry.  Is there any hope?  What about any form of natural homeopathic therapy?

Answer
Lauren,

Unfortunately I am not a qualified vet so I am not able to offer a diagnosis or alternate explanation. My vet can't offer any suggestions or diagnoses without seeing the cat. If you are worried that your regular vet may not have an accurate diagnosis or hasn't explored all of the options I would strongly suggest that you try to see a holistic vet in your area. Holistic vets use conventional and alternative treatments to care for their patients. I am not aware of any homeopathic or herbal remedy to deal with enlarged lymph nodes. I would think that blood work would be the most likely next step to see how everything looks. I wish that I could offer a prognosis, but unfortunately this is a purely medical issue and the best that I can offer is to advise that you can see about a holistic vet or a second opinion....Hopefully this turns out to be nothing overly serious. You and your kitties are in my thoughts. I wish that I had more to offer in the way of advice. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me again.
