Cat diet

Question
Hello, I have a cat who is around 5 years old. I used to let him out everyday, where I assumed he ate whatever he wanted. Also at home I gave him commercial cat food(dry) and water, with an occasional bowl of milk.

I recently moved to an apartment where I cannot let him go outside, so I'm curious as to what I can feed him aside from his commercial food. Can I feed him feeder fish, such as guppies or minnows? I have a turtle whom I feed those type of fish to occasionally, and I figured I could just buy an extra 2 for my cat now that he is indoors. Also a friend of mine suggested I give him feeder mice...like those given to snakes...but I don't know if that would be messy or even ok for my cat to eat. Any help you can give me would really appreciated, thanks.

Answer
Hi Alex,

Give him a good quality canned cat food. Something that has very little grains in it. Try either EVO, Wellness, Nature's Variety or Innova. These are all good.

Most cats when they go out don't eat outside. It's only the ones who have no one to take care of them that do that. The feeder mice aren't a good idea. Stick with the canned. Good luck.
