Cat Love Behavior?

Question
Hi,
My cat is 4-5 years old and is a tabby.
my cat is only affectionet to me and my two dogs, but sometimes when I`m peting him he bites firmly but gently.
Why does he do this?

Answer
Hi Kiara,
This is called "aggressive play".  He doesn't mean to hurt you. When kittens play, they get quite rough and will bite and kick each other.  You are the other "kitten" that he is playing with.  You can gently tap him on the nose and tell him NO firmly. This is really an act of love on his part, although it may not seem like it to you. It's his way of saying he loves you!

God Bless,
Becky
