Question
hello, All of the articles that I have read for pregnant cats say that you should get a dropper and get the fluid out of the eyes and out of the nose. If my cat gave birth during the night does the mother cat automatically do that to the kitten?
    any answer id greatly appreciated!

Answer
Nicole Marie,

Yes, I do know of breeders who do that.  However, normally, the mama, with her rough tongue, massages the new born's face (and if she does not, you can with a soft face cloth), until the kitten lets out a yelp.

The dropper will not hurt and you can buy special kitten sized syringes for that purpose at your local pet supermarket.  We usually let mama do the deed, as they tend to do it better than we can!!!!!

Best regards... Norm.
