Question

kittens I recently bred form my female long haired cat i crossed her with a short haired male, the kittens are 3 weeks old and i cant tell if they are going to be long haired or short, how can i tell?

Unless the short haired male is carrying the long haired gene, all the kittens will probably be short hairs. Usually, coat length is pretty apparent early on. So, unless you already have kittens with different coat lengths, the odds are that they will most probably be short hairs. The long haired allele is a recessive.

Keep in mind that the cats have not read the genetics books and, so, mother nature sometimes fools us!!!!!!!!!
