BLIND? my 5 week old kitten acts wierd

16:00:23

Question
2 WEEKS OLD: i noticed a large bruise between it's eyes.
SAME DAY: Went limp, breathing irregular, non-responsive, constant rhythmic 'screaming'
LATER THAT NIGHT: Breathing regular, slightly-responsive, mother ignored so started hand-feeding kitten milk every two hours, still regular 'screaming'
NEXT DAY: walking shakily, sporadic screaming, mother feeding again
...left mother to look after (she is fantastic!)...
4 WEEKS: doesn't explore far past the nest - sisters off like a wobbly rocket!
4 1/2 - 5 WEEKS: seems to follow scent or sound; rather than sight; to find his way around.
Falls often from low steps
Is freaked out (jumps and hisses) when anything hits his nose or head
Follows sounds rather than objects ie, when i pass my finger in front of his face, he looks at nothing.  when i scrape it on the carpet, he follows the sound with his head
Falls onto his back and eyes roll - pupils almost closed, paws at eyes and nose and 'screams' for about 10 seconds before 'eating' front paw. Totally non-responsive during these episodes (at least ever few days).
Freaks out when picked up and placed somewhere new (meows a lot until he locates his mother, myself or his food dish)
Stares blankly at nothing a lot, and his nose almost constantly twitches.
On the plus side, he is very active and has taken to eating bothe kitten milk and kitten food from a dish really well.

Answer
Hi again Kelly,

I read your other message first but after reading this message it seems to me like he is having seizures, probably from a brain injury due to the accident.  Take him to the vet for some anti-seizure medication as soon as possible and its entirely possible that he will grow out of this and be a normal kitty.  The longer you wait and he continues seizuring the more brain damage is being done, so please don't hesitate.
