What is a group of ferrel cats called?

Question
What is a group of ferrel cats called, and what is there social structure

Answer
A group of feral cats is called a colony.  Their structure is more complex than that of dogs.  Though they are social creatures, they travel and hunt independently rather than in packs.  And while they do loosely establish a pecking order within a colony, there is not an absolute alpha in the group like there is with dogs.  One cat may be dominant in one area while submissive in another.  Cats form colonies more out of convenience and pleasure (for social bonding, mating, and sharing parenting responsibilities) than out of necessity.  It is these traits that gets cats labeled as solitary animals instead of pack animals.
