Question
we have a 4 year old female short hair tiger cat and she has decided to urinate and pee on our bed and now our couch. we also have a 1 year old male that is always chasing after her to play they both are fixed and declawed i husband is about ready to loose his mind over this female cat we have not done anything different. dont know if it is medical or behavorial problem. any ideas? thanks

You are right, there are only two options, medical or behavioral.

In the case of medical, usually a urinary tract disease will cause these urination behaviors.

In the case of behavioral, there is usually some change that has occurred which has upset the cat.  It may be a new addition to the household (2 legged or 4 legged), a change in brand or type of litter, a strange cat wandering around the outside of your house just to name a few. I would go to the vet first, since the medical cause is usually the easiest one to overcome. IN addition, anywhere she has urinated inappropriately, I would clean up with an enzyme based cleaner specifically for pet stains and pet odors (available from most pet supermarkets or farm stores).
