Help. Cat urinating on couch

Question
I have a bengal cat about 2 years old.  We have had her for about 1 1/2 months as we did a cat rescue.  She is a good loving cat.  Recently, I think we startled her and she sprayed our leather couch.  We tried cleaning it up including an item to mask the odor.

However, she has now decided that the couch would be a good secondary place to urinate.  We caught her in the act (but couldn't stop it).  After that, we cleaned up even more with soap/water uphostrey shampoo.  But as a precaution, we put a plastic drop cloth over the couch and got a water bottle!.

In the last few days she has gone their twice.  Good thinking on the drop cloth.

She otherwises uses the litter box.

Can she smell what is left of the first event and subsequent events?

What can we do to make her stop this behavior?

Answer
yes she can smell it. watch her, if she sniffs the area before she pees on it, then she is working on smell. If she is working on smell, buy the cheapest, most terrible, strongest perfume you can get and put that on the area on the couch she is peeing on. If she isnt working on smell, then she is trying to tell you something. Try moving the couch to a different location in your living room, just rearrange the entire room if you have to. sometimes moving the item works. good luck.
