Question
We just adopted a 6 month old lab pup from the shelter this weekend.  The past few days he has been a playful, active pup, but tonight it is obvious that he is not feeling well.  He is holding his head tilted to one side, and while I was trying to figure out what was bothering him I found that his mouth is hurting.  He won't let me touch it to see if he broke a tooth or something.  Do you know if you can give a dog tylenol or aspirin to try to make him feel better until I can get him to the vet tomorrow?

Answer
Hi Joanne!

This could be many things from a bee sting to a sore tooth or something more serious. Please do not give him any medication as it can be very dangerous.Make sure give him plenty of water until tommorow. He should be okay until tommorow. You can also keep notes of everything abnormal he does then give the notes to your vet tommorow to help him out.

I hope this has been helpful and I wish you the best of luck! Please keep me posted and give that labby puppy millions of kisses for me!Sending wagging tails your way!Nicole
