Question
I have a 1 and a half yr old female Golden Retriever.  Lately her ear ear wax is really runny and when she scratches her ears you can hear the liquid inside squishing around.  I have cleaned her ears and it is still happening.  What is this and what can I do????????

Thank You

Answer
When you hear liquid in the ear it is usually one of two things.  It could be a ruptured eardrumproducing mucus and pus.  It could alse be a severe infection causing the skin of the ear canal to get ulcerated.  That causes the ear to fill with serum.  You should have the vet do a deep ear exam to see if there is an eardrum present.
