excessive eye glob

Question
My cat normally has eye glob, like after she sleeps or something. But lately it has been excessive.  At first it was only in one eye, but now it seems to be in both of them.  I was wondering what was wrong and if you know if this could be serious.  Thank you.

Answer
Well without knowing how old your cat is, whether or not she is vaccinated etc. it would be hard to comment on this. Most eye gunk is from irritation or an upper respiratory illness.
Unless you have new wool or nylon rugs, which can irritate with fumes, I can't really know why your cat has this.
You should take her to the vets and ask them.
