Question
We got a  5 month old shar-pei lab mix from a rescue shelter today (sat).  will be taking him to our regular vet next week when they are open.  We bought a rawhide chewy toy for him and he went nuts for it.  Problem is that 3 teeth fell out while he chewed on it.  I believe that they are premolars.  I suspect that he didn't have much to chew on @ the shelter, so maybe those baby teeth just didn't have a chance to work themselves out.  There were no long roots attached, very little bleeding, no pain on the puppy's part, and he seems like a very health and happy guy otherwise.  Is it completely abnormal to lose all those teeth like that?

Answer
Hi - Best wishes on the new pup!

Yes, it is very normal.

Glad there wasn't much bleeding... The roots are very shallow in baby teeth.

BEST Wishes
