Cat, Possibly sick..

Question
My cat has been breathing "funny" and weird ever since I found him(Which was a long time ago in a burn pile and has been a house cat ever since)

But has got -most- of his shots.

His nose is constantly runny but that could be because we like to keep it around 70F all the time.

Today, I noticed something came out his mouth..I dunno if it was something old he tried to eat on the ground or not, But it was pretty wet..It looked as if it had a bloody type mucus on it..But im not quite sure if it was already on the ground and he just picked it up and spit it back out..Or if he actually threw a chunk of food up. It was just a little piece of food about the size of a a pinky finger nail, But, I keep telling myself it probally didnt come up from his stomach since only a small spec was covered in the tiny mucus substance..

But yea, Could my cat be sick?

Answer
David, have you ever had your cat tested for feline aids or feline leukemia?  This information would be great to have in determining the overall health of your cat.  If he has a chronic runny nose, this is not normal. Does he ever sneeze, cough, or have runny eyes?  Does he eat, drink, urinate and defecate normally?  He could just have allergies or it might be something more serious.

I wouldn't worry much about what came out of his mouth unless be begins vomiting.
