Dry Skin Condition

Question
I've had my boxer for 2yrs now. She has, in the past year displayed some signs and symptoms of dry skin. She is a brindle boxer and has a white chest. On her chest, you can usually see red blotches and such.  She also has lost some of her hair on the tips of her ears. The top of her head is a little dry and feels like there are some small dry scabs on it.  Her personality and character has not changed and she acts and plays the same way.  I'm just wondering what this issue could be? I've tried different foods, but nothing seems to change. Is there something I can add to her food to get rid of the dry skin? As of right now I feed her "Royal Canin MAXI Boxer 26 Formula". Would an Omega-3 Fish Oil help with the dry skin?

Answer
Hi Joe, yes, we can add some supplements to her diet.  After a few weeks you should notice a good change in her skin and coat.

Here are my suggestions for your brindle girl.. I bet she is beautiful!

Let's go with some Pure Salmon oil, rather than the Omega 3 fish oil - Pure salmon oil is the best and she will love the taste.  Put about 1 tablespoon, per day , and mix into her food.

Next, let's start mixing her food with some Innova Evo brand/////
Please do a 50/50 mix of the Royal Canin Maxi 26 and the Innova EVO.
I want her to get less fillers with the Innova ( just follow my lead and do a good mix of the two )

Also, please order "NuVET" Skin / Coat :  supplements - this can be given each day - will help to build up to a  healthy skin and coat!
Or your money back:

http://www.nuvet.com/81098

**look for nuvet plus wafers / about .55 cents per wafer treat.
**use order code 81098 / NOT sold in stores...use breeder/vet code for ordering***
She will need 2 per day for the first 10 days , then you can cut down to just one per day of NuVET Plus...

Good Luck, Talk to you soon!
