my jack Russell bitch had 6 pups last Friday everythings been fine up until 2 days ago when my bitch started getting diarrhea which she still has.Unfortunatley a pup died this morning i think she was squashed by her mum but im worried it may be related to the bitch having diarrhea is it common for bitches to get diarrhea after giving birth shes been eating fine and all the other pups are feeding fine.

Bitches will sometime get diarrhea from eating all the afterbirth and just the whole change in body chemistry. It should clear up within a few days. You can add some boiled rice to her diet to help out but pretty much it is a cleaning out process. Pups can sometimes be affected by what the bitch eats but rarely by diarrhea unless she has a different reason for having the diarrhea (such as a virus).

Hopefully she is on a high quality PUPPY food such as Science Diet puppy Growth. She will need to be on that until the pups are weaned.
