Diarrehea

Question
We have a tiny eight year old yorkshire terrier (2lb4oz) who has had intermittent diarrehea since we returned from our trip on Tues.  She was boarded at the vet for two nights.  While she was there, the vet gave her a bordetella shot to keep her updated.  Her six month's were up at the end of the month.  She is also given .15 ml of predisone daily for a chronic intestinal inflamation.

We think she is suffering a side effect from the shot, but don't know how long to wait before going to the vet.  Is there anything we can do for her at home?

Answer
The vaccination has nothing to do with this problem. You stated that this dog has chronic intestinal inflammation and is on pred daily for that?

She could have been fed some food that upset her digestive system or she might not have been given her pills daily. This happens quite often at kennels.

Even at the vets she might not have been given the pills and just being boarded will cause some dogs enough stress to set them off with diarrhea.

I would give her some rice mixed in with her usual food for a day but if she is still sick tomorrow or Monday call the vet. You cannot wait long with a little one like that.
