We have a female stray cat...

Question
We have a female stray cat that lives on our porch in a little house that we built for her. There is a bed, etc. She has recently(about an hour ago) just given birth to one kitten - looks like there may be more. It just snowed a great deal last night and it is still pretty cold outside. I was wondering if I should attempt to bring her into my house and place her in a separate room. (we have 3 cats and 1 dog that live inside). Or should we just make sure there is sufficient water and food and leave her alone. The kitten is a nice size and is meowing like crazy. It appears to be healthy and looked like it was feeding. We haven't had alot of success trying to catch the mother for neutering... any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

Answer
If she will allow it, I would try to bring her inside if the weather is very cold.  If she is afraid, then I would just make the porch as warm and comfortable as possible for her...you can put a heat-lamp out there for her too.

You do not want to stress out the mom or she can delay the birthing process or leave your porch and strand the one kitten and give birth to the rest somewhere else.
