hi hilary,
i have a jack russell terrier, when i first brought it 4 month ago, my terrier does not have round small dark color patches on his belly about the size of 1cm. This happen 2 month back, i brought my terrier back to ask the seller but they told me it's his birth mark, but the dark patches is spreading, even his neck have some patches now. I think it is not the birth mark, anything i can do to heal it. I have a picture of the dark patches but i dun know where can i send you to have a look. thanks

Hi James.  Some dogs do develop these types of pigment changes in their skin as they mature toward adult-hood.  Pigment changes are very common and are not threatening to the dogs health.  If these spots are raised, dry, ect., it may be a good idea to get it checked by your veterinarian.  More than likely, this is just a simple pigment change.  If you would like to send me a picture of the spots, please feel free to at Sprinklostardust@aol.com
