Feral cat

I adopted a feral cat that wouldn't leave my yard and stalked me through windows.  I couldn't bare to see him outside looking in on the other cats in my house having a good time and being loved. It took me 5 months to gain trust. He's been with us for about a month now Approximately 3 years old.  No fleas, got him neutered and rabies and distemper.  I see no worms on his butt or in his stool and I have looked! I smell no smell from his anal area (anal sacs) it looks clean. Yet a few times now and then or at least once a day when he is out and socializing, he will drag his butt on the floor for a few seconds.  My own personal theory is he's still healing and the site is a little itchy, but should I take him back to the vet and have his stool analyzed so I don't get the others sick?  He is showing NO signs of illness.  Healthy appetite, no diarrhea?  I can't afford to have 3 sick cats taken to the vet.  HELP

Is the cat feral or a stray?  Feral cats do not  interact with people - they are wild and usually do everything within their power not to come in contact with people.

Your cat is dragging his bottom because he is feeling some sort of irritation on his anus.  It is doubtful that the area where  he was neutered is causing the irritation.  Have your vet check his anal sacs and do a fecal exam.
