9 week old kitten

We have recently adopted a kitten.  He eats well, sleeps well, etc.  However he bumps into things, cannot seem to guage distance when jumping and constantly sniffs the air before moving around.  Is he just strange or could there be an underlying eye problem?

Please forgive the lateness of this answer but my Internet connection has been down completely for two days.

He might be disoriented from being in a new home but if it continues you need to have the vet evaluate him when he goes in for his next vaccination. If he got his first at 6 weeks then he is due now.

Some kittens are just not as agile as others and are more cautious. Most kittens at this age still don't do well when jumping. Sniffing the air and walking into things makes me think he may have an eye problem as well.
Your vet has ways of testing him. Make an appointment for him soon.
