Slight hair loss 6 month old border collie mix

Question
My parnter and I adopted a border collie/german shephard mix from a rescue, when she was 4 months old (feb. 10) we got her spayed.

Since then she has not grown any hair back from where they shaved her on her stomach and genital area, she has also started to lose small amounts of hair on her back paw, and where her outside thigh meets her body.

She has no fleas, is on a holistic diet, no scaling or redness either. It just seems to be hair loss, the rest of her coat is very healthy looking and she doesn't itch more than normal.

We also have another 5 month old boy dog, he has not expeirenced any hair loss.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
I would ask your vet first to do a skin scraping to check for demodex mange.  This tiny parasite lives in the hair follicles and during times of stress (like spaying) the mites reproduce causing damage to the hair follicles and there will be non-itchy hair loss in areas.  This can be a local thing or it can affect the whole body. It is not contagious.
