Birds and fly-strips dont mix!!!

Question
After about four months of waiting, my stepmother's parakeet finally grew in her flying feathers. When I went over my father's house tonight, my father in a parent-like pride took the bird out to show off her flying abilities. She showed off her flying abilities all right, right into a sticky fly-strip! We watched in horror as she struggled to free herself, but just manages to get more stuck. Seconds seemed like hours, but after less than a minute, she stopped moving. We were sure she was dead, but after examining her closer, we found that by some miracle she was still alive. She had manages to get her wings stuck spread eagle on the strip, along with all of her back. My father took down the strip, my stepmother then held the strip, I held the poor birds heads because it was still trying to get off the strip by biting at the glue, and my father carefully removed her from the strip. After she was free we had time to assess the damage. The once clear fly-strip was now covered in feathers big, and small feathers, but oh the poor bird! Nearly all of her feathers were gone including 95% of the feathers from her wing, all of her tail feathers, and most feathers from her back. Luckily her head was spared (thank God). She was bleeding from everywhere, because the strip, and removing from the strip had managed to yank most of her main feathers out. Owning a conure gave me a little insight to incident with bird injuries, not to mention my father and stepmother were absolutely clueless as of what to do. We ended up putting her in some nice warm water in attempts to stop the bleeding, making sure to get plenty on her eye because some glue had gotten in it in the fray. Besides giving her a nice warm bath, and some TLC, I am absolutely clueless as of what to do next. Please help me and my panicking family.

Answer
Hi!

You dont need to do anything for now, just make sure you give your bird a good quality food. Also some additional vitamin-mineral drops may help. She is probably very stressed for now. So make sure you dont disturb her too much, just give her some time to heal.
