Question
i have a terrier that puts out a smell even after being bath with shampoo for that problem.
is there anything  i can do, sometimes the smell
is breath taking. is there a certain kind of food,
medicine, shampoo,anything?
please help

thanks in advance

Answer
This is called seborrhea and there are a couple of things I recommend.  First, keep shampooing, as that removes the oils on the skin.  Second, get her on some oral antibiotics (see your vet for these), and use Omega3 fatty acids in her food.  Often the oils on the skin are broken down into smelly volatile oils by the bacteria.  Having a different type of dietary fatty acid prevents this type of rancid smell.  It may take a month or so for the oil to work.
