abrasion

Question
My dog has a little raw spot on her leg.  I don't know what
caused it, but she's been really chewing on it and it's gotten a bit
worse.  I want to do something about it before she really starts
hurting herself, is there any way to put a doggy band-aid on it
or some sort of bandage to keep from gnawing at it?

Hi Matthew!

First off, make sure the abrasion stays clean and dry.

Second, make an appt to see the vet. Many dogs get whats called a 'lick granuloma'. They are annoying to both dog and owner. Sometimes they need steriod therapy with prednisone and or antibiotics on top if they infected the lesion.

Right now, put a sock over her foot where the lesion is and make an appt.
