Human to puppy transmission

Question
I have a 10 week old chihuahua puppy.  He only weighs 1 lb.  I developed
bronchitis soon after getting him a week ago.  He is now starting to sneeze.  
Could he have gotten sick from me?

While animals and humans share many of the same diseases (bronchitis, pneumonia, pink eye, etc), the specific organisms that cause them are for the most part different.  Bacterial strains tend to be species specific so while one can be passed human to human or dog to dog it is rare for them to cross species.

Puppies are rather susceptible to viruses and the same weather which may have lowered your defenses allowing bronchitis to set in may have done the same to him.
