beagles and ear infections

I have a beagle with big floppy ears and he is always getting ear infections.  The vet medicine is very expensive.  I was wondering if there is any home remedy i can use to get rid of this and keep it clear or if there is any over the counter meds to help him

Hi Penny! You should clean the ears out first,which depends on how dirty they are or if there is an ear infection. Routine cleaning is once a week but when infected it is 1-2 X a day. Squirt pet ear cleaner in the ear, massage the ear and wipe out excess with a cotton ball. If this doesn't work,you will have to buy the medicine from the vet which will help a lot even though it is a lot of money.I wish I could be more a help and good luck!please keep me posted and give him lots get well kisses for me!Sending wagging tails your way!
