Unhungry Dog

My 1 year old male German Shepherd has lost his appetite. He doesn't eat much anymore and is not very big. He is also pretty skinny. I don't know what is wrong with him. I can sometimes get him to eat one little piece of dog food but then he either spits it out or stops eating after that. He eats treats. I have tried changing the type of food but it came to the same result. He just doesn't really eat anymore. Please help me if you can! Thank you.

Hi Clare!This may be because of an upset tummy or recent commotion.Generally a healthy dog can go three to four days without eating before you need to worry.Sometimes appetite changes an be a sign of kidney failure or other serious problems.If your pet is losing weight,you need to get to the bottom of it,and that requires a trip to the vet.
