About Hairless Hamsters

I have a young female hairless hamster, and she has been getting these sores on her back. We were told to get carefresh litter for her. But recently it has gotten worse. What else could it be ?

Hi Tonya!There is no reason to worry about the ear plugs passing through her system, as they should have no problem doing so. I would only be concerned about the material in which the ear plugs are made from, as there is always a chance of a toxicity, although I would not be too worried about that. If your dog becomes lethargic, has diarrhea, is vomitting and not eating/drinking....these would be signs that the ear plug material is causing a toxic reaction. Just keep an eye on her and if you do see any of the above symptoms, getting her to the veterinarian as soon as possible would be a must. I don't suspect that you will see any of these signs, but just as a precaution, keep an eye out!
