Question
What weight  does a chihuahua have to be before it can get the rabies shot?  What vaccinations should a chi have up to date at the the of 7 months? Should they be heart wormed also?

Answer
Weight has nothing to do with rabies vaccinations. They have been tested for all dogs sizes. They need their first vaccination at 4 months old, then a booster at one yr old, then depending which state you live in, one every three years. Other countries may vary on that.

By the age of 7 months a dog should have had at least three distemper-parvo combo vaccinations, (7-ways) a rabies vaccination and should have been on heartworm prevention from the age of 7 weeks old.

They can already have heartworms by 7 months of age if they have not been on heartworm prevention. This is a very hard disease on the dog to have and to treat. Get your dog tested as soon as you can and keep them on prevention all year long! (Unless you live in Antarctica).
