kitty tears

Question
I have recently about four weeks ago, introduced a new kitten into our home, one of my older cats started tearing in one eye a couple of days ago.I rinsed it out with natural tears and started him on Lysine.
The kitten appears to be healthy and she has had two exams and a very expensive fecal reaxam ( $30)
So I am trying to keep my expenses down if I can, at least for a few more weeks.
Does this sound like an upper resporatory issue, conjunctivitis or something else? How long should i treat him at home?
What else can I do at home?
Thank you

Answer
Hi Tina - May just be a little resp virus going on... I would give about 10 to 20 mg of Benadryl per day - just for 3 or 4 days.
Also, you can add some supplements to keep them Healthy and keep the vet bills low -
A Healthy cat means less visits to the vet..Right?

Here are my suggestions for your cat kids..

All the cats can have some Salmon oil - ( 1 teaspoon each) mixed into the wet or dry food.  If you are feeding dry make sure you give them some wet canned food on top... Wet food is great for the urinary system.  Also, make sure they all have plenty of fresh water at all times..YOU can place an ice cube in the water, too keep it fresh

NuVET Feline Formula - If you can put the oldest cat and the kitten on this - It will help to keep the Immune system strong!  NuVET plus is great for cats will allergies and will help with healing.
Here is the link for ordering:
