QuestionMy 14-yr. old (part Maine Coon) cat is surprisingly arthritic. He has always been the correct weight for his size (about 13 lbs.) and was outdoors when we were working and would come in and spend the evenings and night inside.
What do people do for chronic pain in cats? I take Etodolac for my own arthritis (I'm 59) and it helps so much! Is there nothing similar for cats? THANK YOU!
AnswerFollow UP - Well, I like to try the lower cost and natural choices first. You can get the 45.00 shots and they will help for about 3-4 weeks, or so??? Sometimes they don't even work.. Sorry... I would go with the holistic choices first. If the NuVET Feline doesn't help and the Salmon oil, then I can see trying the 45.00 shots from your vet.
Let me know what you decide!

Hi Kathleen - Many times the vet will order a steroid pill that can be very strong and helpful... The only problem is that this kind of drug has serious side effects...
I have some healthy and safe suggestions to try:
First off- Please get some salmon oil - You can find this at most pet stores - give 1 teaspoon per day - great for his joints...( knees)
Next, NuVET Feline Formula is very helpful and should give some relief from the stiff joints and arthritis.
Try this - Give it a 90 day challange - Guaranteed or they will refund your money...It only costs about .50 cents per day for NuVET Feline..
Use order code 81098
Take our 90 Day trial and see for yourself...
Here is my personal site about NuVET...

Also, we can add a few other supplements and oils to his diet if needed.
Please e-mail me with a MONTHLY report on his progress...
Thanks
