Puppy with Bloated Tummy?

Question
I have a puppy of unknown breed, about 9 weeks old according yo our vet. He developed a very bloated and hot tummy before we took him to the vet saturday. He got dewormed, the vet said that was the cause of the bloating, and there were a few (around 4 or 5) stool samples with visible worms in.

But, he is still very bloated and hot. He is eating, drinking, peeing, poopin, playing as usual, his tummy just seems to still be full of gas.

About how long should it usually take before it goes down? How long should we wait?

Answer
It will take more than one worming to rid this puppy of all of the worms. The bloated belly will subside with time but he will need to be wormed again in about 10 days, then another 10 after that. In that way, you will kill off any new hatches.

Make sure he is on a high quality food, not garbage grocery store food. He needs better nutrition to help him catch up from all of the nutrition these worms steal from him.

We recommend Science Diet Puppy Growth but Iams or Eukanuba will work as well.
