Question
i have an 11 year old female black lab mix. toniight while chasing a ball inthe park her left hind leg gave out but she didnt stop. when she retrieved the ball she had a verry bad limp. shes not crying or seems to be in pain but she cant use her leg. she lets me touch it and put ice and message it. i want to know if theres anything i can do for her before i take her to the vet in the mornning or how i can tell if its dislocated or torne muscles and or tendons. it pains my heart to see her hobble like this. thanks verry much . verry concerned owner and friend. frank pignatano.

Answer
Hello Frank -

The ice is the best thing you can apply right now until the vet assesses the actual physical damage. The vet will be able to give you all the details as far as if it broken or dislocated. I cannot really tell you much without seeing her or without more information on her movement. I know she can't use the leg but there are more details to it then that.

Please contact me with the results from the vet. I will be happy to assist you with some natural healing advice that may help your pets health overall.

I understand your concern and you are in my prayers. The best medicine is love, cherish your pet and she will heal twice as fast.

Again, please feel free to contact me again and I will be happy to help.

Thank you and best wishes to you and your pet.
